TERMS & CONDITIONS
LIFTS
- All participants must have either a valid class card or current lift ticket displayed at all times. Verification may be conducted by Uplands staff at any time.
- “Lost” program cards should be reported immediately to the upper clubhouse. Replacement cards will be issued only with proof of original purchase and may be subject to an administrative charge.
LESSONS
- All programs participants or, if under 18, a parent or guardian, are required to read, understand and sign a release before receiving their class or rental card.
- All program and rate categories are based on the age of the participant as of January 1, 2008. Proof of age may be required.
- Uplands Ski Centre does not offer make up classes for lessons missed for personal reasons. It is recommended that, if a lesson is missed, the student practice on their own or take a private lesson (at their own cost) to ensure they do not fall behind their classes’ ability level.
- Uplands reserves the right to cancel any scheduled group lessons due to insufficient registration. Participants already registered will be given the option of:
- Transfer to another class of acceptable date and time;
- Take a credit of fees paid against a series of private lessons; or
- A refund of fees paid.
- At Uplands all programs will normally proceed regardless of weather conditions. Under certain circumstances, Uplands staff may move the session indoors for all or part of a lesson. Accordingly participants should not assume a lesson will be cancelled unless notified. See #6.
- Under rare circumstances, Uplands will cancel lessons on a particular day, providing as much notice as possible. Registration forms will request a contact number to be used in this eventuality. Cancelled lessons will be rescheduled within the 2008 season.
- Private lessons may be booked up to 5 days in advance, require payment by Visa, Amex, or MasterCard and are subject to instructor availability. Prebooked lessons may be rescheduled with a minimum of 24 hours notice of the lesson date; otherwise a $25 cancellation fee will apply.
- Participants who have “forgotten” their class cards must check in at the upper clubhouse prior to commencement of their class to obtain a temporary card or pass.
- Programs participants must arrive for their lessons at a minimum of 15 minutes before their scheduled class time. Late arrivals may be excluded from participating in the class.
- “Lost” program cards must be reported immediately and a replacement card obtained before proceeding to the hill. There will be an administrative fee of $25 levied for any card “lost” more than once.
- If a participant is physically incapable (because of broken bones, ongoing illness, etc.) of continuing within the program as supported by a doctor’s certificate, Uplands will provide a pro rata credit to be applied towards future ski (or golf) activities.
On the other hand if a participant is physically capable of continuing within the program, but wishes not to do so (lack of desire, conflicting schedules, etc) there will be no credits allowed.
EQUIPMENT RENTAL
- Rental of equipment may be subject to a $250 credit card deposit. Signature of card holder will be required along with photo I/D. All persons wishing to rent equipment will be required to read, understand and sign a release. A parent or guardian’s signature will be required if the individual is under 18 years of age.
- Equipment must be returned to the rental office after each lesson. Equipment returned late may be subject to a late charge of $25 per hour or part thereof.
